Let the change starts from you!
மாற்றம் உன்னிடம் இருந்து ஆரம்பம் ஆகட்டும்!
We are speaking of Save water for a long time, usually, the topic will bubble up and wrap up soon! but when the scarcity hits the most we will start to think again. But as a common man what we can do small level to contribute to the society/environment/ neighbour whatever it is! Let’s see what are the ways we can contribute with small tricks!
Toilet Flush Tank – Water Bottle
Put an inch or two of sand or pebbles in the bottom of a one-litre bottle to weigh it down. Fill the rest of the bottle with water and put it in your toilet tank, safely away from the operating mechanism. In an average home, the bottle may save 30 litres or more of water every day without harming the efficiency of the toilet. If your tank is big enough, you may even be able to put in two bottles.
Toilet Tank – Leak
In the toilet flush tank to place a few drops of food colouring or any colouring liquid. If without flushing, the colouring begins to appear in the bowl, you have a leak that may be wasting more than 300 litres of water a day
Stop – Your toilet is not an Ashtray or Wastebasket
Every cigarette butt or tissue you flush away also flushes away 15 to 21 Liters of water. So always flush the toilet when needed.
Take Shorter Showers – Use flow Restrictors
A normal shower uses 15 to 30 litres of water in a minute. Limit your showers to the time it takes to soap up, wash down and rise off, Also use some flow restrictors in the shower, its a small change but huge effort in saving.
Turn off the water while shaving, better use cups or water holders. Just watch out how much you are using in typical shaving time.
Rinse of Vegetables
Rinse your vegetables instead in a bowl or sink full of clean water.
By these simple steps, you can save much more than normal, let first focus on utilizing the resource effectively, then we can plan for the long term.
NOW – Utilize Effectively
NEAR – Conserve Effectively
FAR – Preserve Effectively
